URB Magazine #30 : Boo-Loc Cover

I must have seen 20 clothing lines that never made it. Great article on Y’all So Stupid. These early issues of Urb have a large amount of hip hop related information.

URB Magazine #31 De La Soul Cover

De La Soul cover along with an article on Scarface make for a pretty good issue. Also very interesting was the story on Black Moon’s Buckshot Shorty, dropping the “Shorty” out of his name and gearing up for their LP Enter Da Stage, which was a classic in my opinion.

URB Magazine #33

Dizzy Wear clothing line ad with Charlie Brown and Dinco D from L.O.N.S.  URB Magazine critic “Todd” gives Snoop Doggy Dogg a bad review and says it is one of the most disapointing albums of the year. Luckily Elliott Wilson gets the review correct of Wu-Tang – Enter The Wut-Tang (36 Chambers).

URB Magazine #35 : Steve Loria Cover

Not feeling the cover but has articles on The Gravediggaz, Schooly D, NAS, and Jeru The Damaja. Can’t beat that.

URB Magazine #37

No cover love, but a good piece on if Congress should ban or label gangsta rap. Ant Banks The Big Bad Ass Advertisement in full effect. Nice old school clothing ad “Rudeboy Don’t Test!”

URB Magazine #34

It’s the photo issue with some nice pictures of Flavor Flav, Fat Joe,YZ,Cypress Hill, Ice Cube, Moby with hair?,, and House of Pain. Has a ghetto looking ad for Ecko Unlmtd. and a large black and white ad for Snoop’s Doggystyle.

URB Magazine #38 Oct 1994 : Organized Konfusion Cover

Not as heavy on the hip hop side in this issue. You got to love an Organized Konfusion cover, I learned that there are grafitti pogs out there, and a clothing company back in 1994 called Shady Clothing.

URB Magazine #36 Hardkiss Family Cover

This 1994 issue of Urb had some interesting items. Large full page ad for Saafir and another for Outkast’s Southernplayalisticcadilacmusic that I had never seen before. It also features a freestyle picture with Aceyalone, Mikah Nine, Ganjah K, Volume 10 and Big Al.  A nice insiders look at annual Gavin Convention in San Francisco.
