XXL Magazine #151 TDE Black Hippy Cover

XXL Magazine Kendrick LamarWe going new school for this issue. Uh, so Schoolboy Q is upset that XXL put “Kendrick Lamar & Black Hippy” on the cover instead of just Black Hippy. No disrespect to Jay Rock, but ever hear of D12? Well you probably wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for Em. Eminem sold that group into the spotlight and without Kendrick I’m pretty sure the album wouldn’t have that much push. So Q, don’t get your panties in a bunch. Lil Wayne is promoting some ugly ass cheetah print shoes called “The Chimera” by Supra. A Chimera is a mix of a Goat, Lion, and Snake tail, these shoes look like a mix of Cheetah, RuPaul, and Blindness. I like Lil Wayne better when he was a little skinny ghetto boy who use to kiss his dad. Devin The Dude, when talking about legalizing weed says that in the 50’s people thought that weed would make mexicans and black people kill and white women fall in love with black people. Any truth to this or is Devin just making shit up as he rolls another one?

How about this gem from 2 Chainz in the section for artists to Step Your Rap Game Up, one of the dumbest lines I’ve heard in a bit. “Rest In Peace To All The Soldiers That Died In The Service/ I Died In Her Cervix” :/

XXL Magazine #141 : Lil Wayne Cover

I’m not feeling the cover, but I think it has more to do with the fact that I’m not a lil wayne fan. Articles on Odd Future and B.o.B. are the only interesting things in this issue.

XXL Magazine #23 : Hot Boys Cover

Man, it would have been nice to see the Hot Boys stay together for a few more years. Issue is one of my favorites, packed with a huge amount of info. The best part is when XXL pays homage to the independent magazines that came before them, such as Ego Trip, The Bomb, and Kronick.

Blaze Magazine #13 : Lil Wayne Cover

Lil Wayne with his daughter for the cover of this Blaze issue. Funniest album advertisement i’ve seen so far. Yungstar’s Throwed Yung Playa has Yungstar getting poured diamonds out of a cereal box in a bowl by his momma. The house in the background has giant flags and a ferris wheel, roller coaster, and a “David” statue. Lots of great articles with Lil Wayne, Raekwon, 2nd II None and even better advertisements for Jay-Z, DMX, Def Squad, Biggie, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
