Rime Magazine #13 : The Game Cover

This is actually Hip Hop Magazines best kept secret title. Very pleasing to the eyes, in depth interviews, great selection of artists, and interesting subject matter. The eye candy and first round draft sections are mirrors of other magazines, but they hold their own. Labtekwon is the 1st round draft pick and he says his most famous battle was when he out dueled the entire Hieroglyphics crew in a freestyle battle. I need to do some research and see how true that is. Interesting article on how (A Tribe) Ali Shaheed Muhammed’s name has affected his career.

Update* So I took to Twitter to find out the real story, and I wish I hadn’t. Nothing resolved. Here’s a sample of some of the Tweets.

XXL Magazine #91 : Young Buck Cover

Young Buck on the cover before he ran out of money and cried on the phone. By the way, his first album was a classic. Funny section on The Game at club Firestone in Florida and challenging a fan to a bottle drink off.

The Source Magazine #187 : The Game Cover

The Game’s white T is wrinkled……. already irritated when the first advertisement is a two page layout for Benzino, Petey Pablo goes to Death Row, Ying Yang Twinz, and a weak “Tell All” on 50 Cent. All around weak issue.

Elemental Magazine #59 : The Game Cover

Best cover of The Game I have seen….. Covering half his face … OOH! Naw, but I respect The Game’s Lyrics. Interesting to hear him talk about G-Unit before 50 booted him. One of my favorite groups is featured in this issue also, Smif-N-Wessun.

King Magazine #29 : Kelis Cover

Very nice cover of Nas’ ex. The Game ad inside sporting those ugly Hurricane shoes, I’d rather have a butterfly tattoo on my cheek than sport those. Reader’s comment section has a small King Magazine with a girl named Toccara on the cover….. I’m gonna have to check that out. Funny section called King covers you’ll never see “Omarosa Unemployed and Unclothed”. After getting distracted by this issue I realized I had gone through it without a real mention of Hip-Hop, the closest you will get is that Game ad and a Fat Joe Boost Mobile ad.
