Tha Yay Magazine #3 : Keith McGowan Cover

Ugly ass cover but you gotta love the underground feel of this magazine.  Best part of the mag is when D.J. Flirt calls out NorcalUnderground promotions for scamming and misrepresenting a show with Too Short and 2 Live Crew. Neither acts showed up and D.J. Flirt said the following “Who are these hoes and what were they getting paid for this show? I hope NorcalUnderground didn’t pay a lot for those mufflers” What’s a Muffler? Sounds funny. “I got out of there, and actually found a better show at a Karaoke bar! (no lie)”.

Murder Dog Magazine Vol.7 No.5 : Too Short Cover

You really can’t hate on the cover with Bay Area Rap Legend Too Short. Cap 1 inside, never really blew up like I thought he would. Interesting letter to the editor from Jamal Diggs while in prison giving some insight to Mac Dre, Jamal Diggs would go on to be J-Diggs of Thizz Nation. Articles on M.O.P. and Richie Rich.

Hoodstar Magazine #2 : Too Short Cover

Nice layout on the cover and a hip hop icon in Too Short. This magazine is an independent magazine but really put together very nicely. It’s a shame it only focuses on the west coast as it has everything, from politics, music, fashion, and hot eye candy.

The Source Magazine #35 : Too Short Cover

I think I just like the cover because Too Short’s on it, it’s not exactly well put together. The first two clothing ad’s catch my eye, Cross Colours with those funky bright colors, and yes, I had a bright green jacket. The second ad is for a clothing line called DMZ Safe Zone, it’s as close to porn as you can get without it being called that. One of my favorite group names and album name has to be Lil Bastards with the album Bitch Get A Job! Hip-Hop Quotable is Pete Rock – For Pete’s Sake. Unsigned Hype is not yet in the Source.

Rap Sheet Magazine Vol.4 No.5 : Too Short Cover

Too Short retires in 1996 lol, sure. Very strong issue with a nice ad on Smoothe Da Hustler and a critique of some demo’s by Mike Ock, No More, and Cartoon.
